Thunderbird 復活
以前Thunderbirdが動かなくなって鶴亀に移行したが、その鶴亀が不安定すぎるのでThunderbirdの修復を試みた。ヘルプを見ると別のプロファイルで起動するという方法があった。過去のメールは見えなくなってしまうだろうが、どうせメーラーを乗り換えるなら同じ。プロファイルを作成しなおしたら無事メールの取得ができるようになった。
よかったよかったと満足してフィルタリングの設定を復活させた。そこでふと思い立ちエクスプローラでメールのデータフォルダを見てみると、inboxのファイルが巨大なのに気づく。以前も見たことはあったがどのぐらいのサイズなんだろうと見てみると…2GB。
2GB? たしかWindowsでは1ファイルの最大サイズが2GBだったような。まさかこれが原因では？ということで元のプロファイルで起動してinboxを「Compact this folder」してみる。
直った。もっと早く気づかないといかんなー。
